Northern Lights Little League is excited to announce that we are bringing softball back in house for 2026. We are working with other Little Leagues in our district and other organizations to ensure NLLL softball teams will play in the north metro area and have ample opponents to play. We look forward to a great softball season.
NLLL will offer three separate divisions of softball in 2026.
Minors – Player Pitch (Ages 8–11)
Purpose: Instructional and developmental, moderately competitive; follows Little League softball rules. Scores/standings kept; includes end-of-season tournament.
Eligibility: Ages 8–11.
Schedule: Mid-March – late June; ~18–20 games (weekday evenings + Saturdays)
Location: NLLL main complex + metro area road games
Practices: 1–2 per week (coach discretion)
Team Formation: Assessment + Draft; no friend/coach requests
Postseason: Eligible for All-Stars (district, state)
What’s Provided: Jersey, cap, socks, belt, all equipment except glove
What You Provide: Cleats, pants, glove
Cost: $200
8 to 11 year olds -- They have the option to play either player pitch or major. An assessment will help determine. Sign up for the desired division and the league will move before the start, if needed.
Majors (Ages 9-12)
Purpose: Competitive environment with focus on skill advancement; scores/standings kept. Includes end-of-season tournament.
Eligibility: Ages 9–12
Schedule: Mid-March – late June; ~18–20 games (weekday evenings + Saturdays)
Location: NLLL main complex + metro area road games
Practices: 1–2 per week (coach discretion)
Team Formation: Assessment + Draft; no friend/coach requests
Postseason: Eligible for All-Stars (district → state → regional → national)

Team Formation: Preseason assessment + draft required
What’s Provided: Jersey, cap, socks, belt, all equipment except glove
Postseason: Eligible for All-Stars (district, state)
